Pipe in screed is the most commonly used and usually the most cost effective underfloor heating system with the highest heat outputs. There are several methods you can use for pipe in screed installation;

Pipe-in-screed is especially suitable where there is scope to build floor construction from the slab upwards enabling the laying of insulation with pipe laid on top before the application of a screed.

You can use simple clips to fix the pipes (figure 1) or clip rails (figure 2) for greater control over spacing.

Another method of installing above slab is to use castellated plastic trays to ensure even spacing throughout (see figure 3).

If scope to build up from the slab is restricted, you can use a low profile system called Profix Plus which utilizes low height castellated panels requiring minimal build up (see figure 4 ).
